Paul's interest in Plein Air painting has its roots in a series of pieces painted from studies made in sketch books while travelling in 2017 (see Representational -Scenery menu).  Paul's relocation to the Eastern Shore, with its scenic wealth along with an invitation to participate in a Plein Air event in his home town of Chestertown has inspired him to pursue this genre.  Paul finds it stimulating and a welcome break periodically from studio practice. Additionally, the paintings have proven popular among local collectors which is an encouragement.
